Today, @THE RECOMMENDISTA is sharing her Nonna’s favorite recipe for Christmas Eve,“Sfincione”. This is a Sicilian thick-crust pizza topped with anchovies, scallions, bread crumbs, and primo sale cheese which makes it perfect for aperitivo and best enjoyed with a glass Mionetto Prosecco. Recipe below! INGREDIENTS 🍕 Pizza dough 🍕 Bread crumbs 🍕 3 anchovy fillets 🍕Primo sale cheese 🍕Grated pecorino Romano cheese 🍕Scallions 🍕Oregano 🍕Cinnamon 🍕Olive oil METHOD Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Drizzle olive oil on a square pan. Spread out pizza dough on a pan and pierce all over with a fork. Melt 3 anchovy filets in olive oil until dissolved. Spread anchovy mixture onto dough, then add primo sale cheese. In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs, grated cheese, scallions (cut), oregano, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Spread mixture onto dough and bake for half hour. While the pizza is in the oven mix together grated cheese with a little cinnamon. Once the pizza is done cooking, sprinkle this mixture over the pizza if desired.
