Thank you to my good sis @ilana for having me speak to voters at your Dance for Democracy event about the coming Midterm Elections! We have many privileges living in the United States, but we do not have the privilege of low-stakes elections in this fragile democracy. Even in a “blue” state like New York, election-denying fascist Lee Zeldin could be elected governor if we don’t turn out in numbers to vote. Republican candidates who would deny us healthcare, pillage our tax dollars, destroy our democracy, and burn our world given the chance, are within reach of claiming NY Congressional seats. Our state is only blue, liberal, progressive, because we the voters make it that way. Because we show up. We don’t have the privilege to sit this one out. We have to vote in November like our lives depend on it — they just might.
