🙃 Bulgarian Split Squats 🙃
When? When you low key enjoy putting yourself through immense pain and suffering. Why? Because they’re probably one of the best possible movements you can do to add strength and size to your lower half.
Setup
- find a surface of your choice for elevating your rear foot, 6-18in is usually optimal height depending on how tall you are
- make sure your working leg is at a clean 90 degree angle, lock that leg/foot into place
- grab your weights, elevate that rear foot, align your torso based on what muscle group you’re trying to bias, and get after it
Things to keep in mind: I’m opting for a hip/glute dominant variation here so my torso is leaned forward and my front shin is vertical/upright the entire time. You can make them more knee/quad dominant as well by keeping your torso upright and allowing your knee to pass your toes with each rep. Either way, you can’t go wrong with these and should absolutely be doing them 🤘🏽
