These images have such a unique quality! “Last year, while browsing in my excellent local art supply store, I noticed the rack of Solarfast dyes from Jacquard. It was there with their cyanotype supplies and I was fascinated to learn that it is a photosensitive dye that acts like cyanotype sensitizer but is available in a wide variety of colors. I had just been reading about Gum Bichromate printing, but had been intimidated by the process, so it occurred to me that Solarfast dye would be a simpler way to make color prints from the black and white trichrome images I had recently started playing with, following guides like this.
