I remember days after telling Shawna I liked her, googling ‘can straight girls be gay?’ 0/10 recommend. 😂🙄 It’s funny to look back on coming out of the closet. It can be a really weird and confusing process - especially if you come from a fundamentalist background where homophobia is rampant, and lots of that can be internalized. If you are in that process right now, and wanting to take it slow - I’d encourage you to immerse yourself in the community online. 🌈 I watched SO many YouTube videos and started seeking out accounts of love that looked like mine. And day by day it slowly started to feel like there was a community for me and I wasn’t in it by myself. This process of coming out can’t be rushed and it looks different for everyone.
