Luke Joseph Colombero. Berklee College of Music Class of 2025. Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring with a minor in Game and Interactive Media Scoring. Jazz Cat For LIFE From a 4 year old model to an 8 year old actor to a 16 year old screenwriter/director to a 19 year old film composer, now to a 22 (almost 23) year old VR designer, media composer, performing/session guitarist, producer, songwriter, and music educator. A stunted high school graduation due to the 2020 pandemic, a solo trek to Emerson College, a radical transfer in all my life’s experience from filmmaking to music composition, a transfer to Berklee thanks to my (imaginary) guitar play-through of Frank Zappa’s “Watermelon In Easter Hay.” While this path is different than what most expected from me—hell, different from what I expected from myself—believe me when I tell you that I’ve found my purpose as an entertainer. I have found my people. The greatest community of musicians, producers, writers, performers, filmmakers, game developers, and more. My bestest friends, my favorite bands and performing artists, the love of my life, inspiring professors and eye-opening experiences. You have all changed my life in ways I will be eternally grateful for, and I look forward to our next collective jam session in a cramped 1120 ensemble room. As I and my fellow jazz cats step fully into our working adult lives, in a world fraught with war and apathy. I want to share some abridged wisdom from professor Ruth Mendelson, one of the greatest human beings on our planet: Life will serve you when you serve life. Selflessness is the most important thing you can have in the world at this time, as a principle. Look for ways to be selfless with your talent. Selflessness accelerates possibilities, moves people to change. Fear does not motivate people as much as love. Love is the reason for positive change, and the purpose of our talent is to give back. Give your talent to the world 🌎 #berkleeclassof2025
