Closing out this unofficial last weekend of summer with a nod to a beautiful hydrangea season and a few more throwback photos. This side of our property dropped off to a steep cliff, filled with dark, poorly maintained cedar trees and thick bittersweet brambles. We cleared some, built a high seawall and backfilled, creating a side lawn and allowing us to expand the footprint of our house. (Swipe- sharing a before and some progress pics) I always wanted a Farmer’s Porch-the original cottage didnt have one. Staying true to shingle style design with the use of positive/negative space, I loved the interest it gave to the house. We really had no idea how much we would love this porch and how special it would turn out. Our twins were completely involved in the building process-my son found a 2006 Quarter on the beach across the street the day they were doing the stonework out here and he minted the house with it that day. (6th pic) Cheers to 14 years, and Happy Labor Day!❤️🤍💙 #welivehere #homeforallseasons #oldhousenewhome #homesweethome #homestyle #homeremodel #homedesign #shinglestyle #oldhomelove #classichome #hydrangealove #hydrangeaseason #houseandgarden #porchdecor #myhomevibe #capecodhome #capecodliving
