Understanding wildlife movements is fundamental to predicting human impact on biodiversity, particularly in relation to habitat degradation, landscape and climate change. Collecting such movement data is one thing, but understanding how to use and apply this data is key for successful conservation. GCF’s Dr Michael Brown recently attended the European Congress of Conservation Biology to present to leading conservation scientists how GCF’s Twiga Tracker initiative doesn't just capture data on giraffe movements but translates it into useful outputs for conservation management for all African stakeholders. @smithsonian_mol #giraffeconservationfoundation #giraffeconservation #twigatracker #giraffe #giraffes #wildlifeconservation #wildliferesearch #girafferesearch #wildlifewednesday #standtallforgiraffe #voiceforgiraffe #sciencebasedconservation #conservationtechnology #technologyandconservation #gpstracking
