My mom actually used to be such a grinch and hated Christmas but my dad is such a trinket collecting diva so he loved buying little villages on clearance and hiding them from my mom. Every year she would be like "is this new" and he'd be like "nah nah its from last year. The villages and the train have been in the household for years but I feel like the way we decorated the tree was always lacking or not cohesive. This year I went for different textures and mediums and stuck with a consistent color pallete and I loveeee it. Every time I do a project like this, even with my coffee bar, it almost feels like I blackout and then next thing you know it just naturally comes together and is never in a minimalistic style. I do appreciate minimalism but it just doesn't feel natural to me and I can't help but feel like it has to do with the immigrant clutter core. #christmastree #christmasdecor #maximalism
