Desert News Marathon Marathon #99 ! Wearing my Dads XLarge tee shirt from this same race in 1988 when I saw him run his first marathon. He planted the seed for this crazy PASSION of mine and will for ever be grateful for his example. I watched him run nearly every day. He didn’t gripe about “needing to workout” it was just a part of his lifestyle. I LOVE THAT!! Last year my goal was to win it for him. It happened!! This year I had no idea how my body would be feeling after @badwaterhq so I didn’t even look at my watch. I let gravity do it’s part on the down hills and just listened to how my body felt on the up hills and a flats. I was honored and excited to claim the win once again this year!!! Huge thank you and big fat kiss to @mattpaulson for getting zero sleep and coming and supporting yet OTHER race. And of course my Mom and Dad cheering and crying at the finishline with me. I feel loved and oh so blessed! 100th marathon is next! Where do you think I’ll run it?!?
