Special lunch will be starting next week @drclarkhouse and We are very excited about this. 9/6 Tuesday is the first day! Theme for the lunch is “what I miss the most, what feels like home, what is actually appetizing, what’s really delicious, what’s the real food?” I (@kanayamayudai )!was back in Japan for almost a month to see my grandma who is not feeling well unfortunately. I don’t share much about my things even with my family and only way that my family knows about how I am doing in NY and what I am doing is through Japanese news shows that feature my restaurants... and my family still can’t believe that I ended up opening restaurants in NYC and I myself have no ideas how I ended up doing this.. Seeing grandma made me realize that I was always eating her food with vegetables that she picked from her garden, the freshest fish that my dad caught in that morning... and this food cooked by my grandma was to me the best food I have ever eaten. Now that she is not cooking any more and I decided to cook for her for the first time in my life. This time, I spent most of my time in Japan learning about her secrets in cooking, her recipes to be able to cook the real Hokkaido home food which to me is the best food.. Here I am back in NYC, this kakiage that I grew up eating, recipe dedicated to us from my grandma is available @drclarkhouse staring next Monday. I want everyone to come try this and know why I started loving to eat so much and ended up opening restaurants in NYC. I’m just a professional eater not a restaurant guy yet.
