I had a goal this year to medal. Didn’t care where or when .. I just wanted to medal. It never happened. For a brief moment I can be upset, but I have to take a step back. This sport is not always about winning medals. It’s about the journey.. Every athlete is the same as me I’m sure. We are all here to win. That’s what we train for. I love to watch my peers win medals and find it truly inspiring. But I need to remind myself that just because I don’t win doesn’t mean I have failed.
