I am extremely excited to present my 3rd print collection titled “Ancient Ice” which contains my favourite ice cave photos from this past winter. These ice caves are hidden deep in the mountains. I would at times hike over 35km in extremely dangerous conditions just for the possibility of finding one. I pushed my physical and mental limits. On one expedition, I barely made it back to my car. The risk is worth it though. The feeling I get when I enter an ice cave is truly magical. I can feel my soul open and become so full with life. These caves contain some sort of spiritual connection to the natural world. Because of this feeling and there incomprehensible beauty, I strongly believe that these ice caves host the ancient spirits of the earth. In the writings that come with the prints, I go more into depth about these feelings and ideas. A part of the reason I feel such a strong need to capture these ice caves is because they won’t be around forever. It is predicted that in 150 years there won’t be any glaciers left in Alberta. These glaciers have been around before modern humans started walking the earth and now, they are receding at an unprecedented rate.
