Would I have believed you if you’d told me my husband would spend most of December in the hospital, undergo three surgeries, and fight for his life? Probably not. But the most important thing is that he’s here with us. Through it all, the Lord was by our side, showing up in the dark hallways and sterile corners of the hospital. Sweet friends became earthly angels, buying us dinner, bringing coffee, meeting me in the elevator for a hug, and praying with me during his surgeries in the wee hours of the night. I truly believe God sends angels to walk among us, offering comfort and strength when we need it most. Today felt like the first time in a while that my heart felt truly light, and my outfit reflected it. I didn’t just dress to get through the day—I put on a red lip and my favorite suit, and it felt so good. I’m thankful I get to be Reid’s nurse, and I’m humbled by how the Lord has been shaping us this past year. As I look ahead to 2025, I’m praying with a heart of trust, eager to see the ways the Lord will show up. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
