The Padres and pitcher Joe Musgrove agreed to a five-year contract that will guarantee him $100 million through 2027. The 29-year-old San Diego native pitched the team’s only no-hitter last year. “Getting to share this one with my family, my agent, godfather, people that have all been instrumental in helping me get here is very special,” Musgrove said at a news conference Monday afternoon. “There’s so much uncertainty in where you might end up in your career. ... It’s kind of the last thing you expect to get to come back and play in your hometown and especially at a time when there’s an opportunity to compete for a championship.” Here, Musgrove talks with A.J.
