I was honoured to create two bespoke bangles , one for Morgan Freeman nominated Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Nelson Mandela in the movie Invictus and the film’s producer Lori McCreary, who wore the bangles at the 82nd Academy Awards – on Sunday, March 7. The bangles are named 46664 Bangles after Nelson Mandela’s Robben Island prison number. The bangles are created with spectacular Zambian emeralds, and were handmade using locally-produced 18K yellow gold and platinum. The vibrant deep green Zambian emeralds have been produced by Gemfields. Emeralds were selected in the design for their symbolism with peace and prosperity.
