By 1647, over 3 million pieces of Chinese porcelain had arrived in the Netherlands—but none of these were among them!
These are what are known as "Delftware", an earthenware ceramic made by Delft potters in the Netherlands that spawned a domestic market. They were made to imitate Chinese porcelain using cheaper materials, the white body of these vessels depend on tin glazes turning white with firing.
