Following last month’s devastating rulings on Dobbs v. Jackson and NYSRPA v. Bruen, you’d be forgiven if you failed to register the next travesty handed down by Mitch McConnell’s hand-crafted, activist Court. Less than a week later, before any of us could dry our tears, the court ruled on West Virginia vs. EPA, effectively stripping the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to regulate power plant carbon emissions. It’s easy to feel helpless in the face of such an onslaught—sitting in the sweltering summer heat—as the highest court in the land rules against the wishes of the vast majority of American citizens time and time again. But we are never helpless. We have to be vigilant, we have to work together, we have to vote and we have to do and give what we can to the organizations that have been fighting and continue to fight for what we believe in.
