Most children of alcohol dependent parents have an uncomfortable relationship with drinking; this could be their choice to be sober, find it difficult to be in social situations with alcohol use or too often struggle with alcoholism themselves. Because of the stigma that is still in society we don’t talk openly about drinking problems so it can be difficult to identify when there is a problem and when to ask for help and often feel too much shame to ask for it.
