It’s the only place in the world with a Hortus Conclusus—taken from the Song of Songs in the Hebrew Scriptures as an emblem of the Virgin Mary in Medieval and Renaissance paintings and poetry as well as an expression to describe Medieval walled gardens—and a Paradise Garden, otherwise known as Islamic Garden.
