Prima . . . To no surprise, my mom didn’t keep much from her wedding and we never got to talk about how I would honor her, knowing she would never make it to my wedding. After a lot of thought, we decided on two special ways to have her with me. The morning of my wedding, while we all gathered in our family home, my best friend @kirb_a_licious sat in my bedroom and free-hand stitched a yellow butterfly onto my train to ensure my mom was with me every step down the aisle. She stitched the same yellow butterfly onto Andrew’s collar so that he could have a piece of her as well. Although they never got to meet, I wrote in our private vows that Andrew was the last stop on my grief train. He has healed me in so many ways and I’m so thankful to have him as my angel on earth.
