In September, Clay surprised me with a trip to Carmel, CA, to celebrate two years of marriage. We had both visited Carmel a few times prior, and we love it there. This year looked a bit different with very dense fog and smoke that didn’t let up the entire time, as, it just so happened, our trip overlapped with the wildfires that took place in mid-September. Though it wasn’t what we expected, we’ll never forget it. We’re going to print, frame & hang this photo in our home to help us remember that special trip and to always remind us to make lemonade out of lemons 🍋 ✨ • For the past couple of years, I have been delving back into film photography — for the first time since high school — and I am loving it. It’s raw, it’s imperfect, and it doesn’t allow for instant gratification. This photo is definitely imperfect, but I am learning.
