To know Caroline Schiff is to love her, but to experience her divine desserts is, quite frankly, to worship her. We're so proud to share that our Caroline (@pastryschiff) has been named a FOOD & WINE Best New Chef 2022, one of only 11 (!!) of the most promising, up-and-coming culinary talent to receive the honor this year. This prestigious award has recognized star chefs early in their careers, such as Daniel Boulud (’88), Nancy Silverton (’90), Tom Colicchio (’91), Michael Symon (’98), Dan Barber (’02), David Chang (’06), Stephanie Izard (’11), Angie Mar (’17), and Kwame Onwuachi (’19). We couldn't imagine anyone more deserving of this recognition than Caroline, with her boundless creativity and talent, impeccable taste for balancing all things sweet-salty-crunchy-creamy-bright, (borderline insanely) hard work ethic, and truly profound generosity—with what little spare time she has she donates to critical causes, and is always finding ways to lift others up around her. It was an honor to meet her fellow BNCs at the FOOD & WINE reveal party earlier this week, and get to know 10 more brilliant, passionate, and thoughtful chefs who are pushing the envelope to make the world a more delicious place. We left deeply inspired and filled with hope for the future of our industry—an elusive, exhilarating feeling after the years we’ve all endured. Khushbu, we can’t thank you enough for recognizing Caroline amongst this year’s astounding group of Best New Chefs, and providing her with such a beautiful support network of leaders and peers across the country. We can’t wait to come visit everyone! FOOD & WINE Best New Chefs 2022 are featured in the October issue of FOOD & WINE, on newsstands September 23.
