At the start of 2022 I finally got keratin hair extensions, a hair transformation that I have wanted to do ever since I was a teenager in secondary school. Growing up I always had really long, thick hair until one fateful day in 2015 when my tumblr feed convinced me to go full on bleach blonde 🤧 (I literally bought a box dye from the supermarket and thought it would be a good idea to go bleach my entire brunette head.) Needless to say it wrecked my hair and I was never able to achieve the length and volume I wanted since. I also suffer from chronic stress and anxiety which makes it very hard to achieve or to keep thick hair 😖 After getting my extensions I feel so empowered and so confident. It really has elevated my look and how I feel about myself a hundred fold. It just feels so good being able to swish my hair around and for it finally to be the length I always wanted. As someone who never goes to the hairdresser, getting this done felt like a big step but I guess the moral of the story is that it’s ok to treat yourself and to try new things! You never know what it might do for your confidence.
