(See Hungarian below) Thank you to @liptailivia , the outgoing, editor-in-chief of Elle Hungary – who spearheaded the publication for nearly two decades – for choosing me as the face of her last issue that focuses on women's rights. On the cover, sexist slogans appear paddled by Hungarian politicians, who get away with their injurious gaffes without any repercussion as an entire political apparatus enables them. Now that there is a bloody war next door in Ukraine, it is hard to think about anything else, but perhaps this is why we need to pay extra attention to the welfare of women and girls whose human rights can be easily trampled on in times of geopolitical crisis. In an interview, conducted by Zsófi Mózes, I discuss my own work and reporting that has shed light on women’s rights, and the lack thereof in Hungary. ~~~ Nagyon szépen köszönöm Livi Liptai-nak, az ELLE Magyarország főszerkesztőjének, hogy a lapnál töltött csaknem két évtizedes munkásságát záró utolsó szám elejére engem választott. Ez a szám különösen fontos mert rávilágít a nők elleni sztereotípiákra, a nőket érő erőszakra, valamint a nemek közötti egyenlőtlenségre Magyarországon. A háború miatt nehéz bármi másra gondolni, de talán pont ezért is kell a nők jogait jobban védeni, hiszen a geopolitikai válság miatt nagyon sok nő kiszolgáltatott helyzetbe kerülhet, emberi jogaik tovább csorbulhatnak.
