Jumping on the trend... 5 Things I Would Never Do as a Dermatologist 1. Retinoids (except for adapalene) are inactivated by sunlight so I would never put them on in the AM. 2. Loofas- these are a bacteria breeding ground- yuck! 3. Gel manicures- these machines emit UV light which can contribute to aging and skin cancers. 4. Neosporin ❌ - about 30% of the population is allergic to a component of this, so I recommend skipping it and sticking to Vaseline instead for wound healing. 5.
