I didn’t become a doula so I could hold babies, I became a doula so I can hold mothers. But sometimes, holding the baby is the best way to hold the mother, so she can tend to any of the million-and-one things that need tending to while we listen to the radio and slow dance around the house πŸ’› While it’s important for the birthing person to rest in the days and weeks following birth, as their babes get bigger and they crave a moment to get something done with two hands, it’s important to create space for this to happen too. Not pictured - a walked dog while mum showered and I grabbed her a coffee, dinner and black rice pudding in the fridge, a sparkling clean kitchen and a couple of very tidy cutlery and utensil drawers, as well as many deep chats πŸ’› Motherhood is such an epic and transformational shift and I am here to support you every step of the way, in whatever capacity you need πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž My books are open for 2023, so if you live in the inner north and would like to chat about doula support, let me know! πŸ’›πŸ’›πŸ’› Video shared with permission from mum ❀️ #postpartum #fourthtrimester #doula #postpartumdoula #postpartumdoulasdothat #melbourne #innernorth
