"Body Paint is conceptually a deep dive into visualizing film lore and process. Ektachrome was discussed from the jump. Ben Chappell and the band have been moving into an extremely specific cinematic area for visuals to accompany the last few Arctic Monkeys releases, and they had a strong point of view on creative, tone, and texture. Though it upped the complexity of the shoot considerably, there really was never an alternative to Ektachrome. For a previous project Frank Mobilio and I had shot a roll or two on a lark, but hadn’t leaned on it in this way. He had to be so much more precise and the stakes felt much higher than usual, but the returns were enormous. Frank and Tasha smashed it. Ektachrome really is mythic-looking. The images look like artifacts." ⠀ Director @brooklinder on new music video BODY PAINT for @arcticmonkeys shot by DP @frankmobilio on 16mm Ektachrome.
