To create sustainable tourism requires immense planning and attention to detail. Rebecca and Ian from Gros Morne Inn explained the care they took in the renovation process; everything from choosing materials to waste prevention. You won’t find single use plastic here — the shampoo and conditioners are solid and wrapped in light wax paper, in the mini fridge you’ll find chilled water in reusable glass bottles. Food waste is composted, and all landfill waste is weighed for transparency and accountability. Their circular business model earned them Sustainable Tourism Gold Certified by Green Step — it proves you can be a friend to our planet while providing a luxurious experience and running a profitable business! They are tucked in the forest with the tablelands peaking out behind, and beautiful views of Bonne Bay as you enjoy breakfast, a drink on the patio or a dip in the hot tub or sauna. I am not one to rave about accommodations but this was one worth talking about for more reasons than simply being pretty!
