THIS IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE HERE. . A few years ago I had a lifesaving emergency D&C abortion after a miscarriage that turned septic. I was living in Chicago, uber’d to the closest Planned Parenthood, and was home and healing later that afternoon. Now I live in Nashville where there is *ONE* Planned Parenthood that has so little funding that it’s open only *ONCE A MONTH*. I had to drive 3hrs to Louisville just to have an IUD removed, and KY has banned all abortions, so if I had been living in Nashville a few years ago I would have died. . We are facing a terrifying prospect that’s quickly becoming reality and eroding access to safe healthcare for (esp young and vulnerable) women. The trends we are seeing will only lead to entrenching people into poverty, abuse, addictions, preventable deaths, and ushering a new era of children into the cycle of generational trauma. (And don’t @ me about adoption. I’m adopted and have a front row seat to the trauma it can cause.) . This is fucked. Overturning RoeVWade isn’t about life (obviously), it’s about control. Now is the time to fight.
