A lot of you have noticed a cute new face around here so I thought we should do an introduction. This is Alsi. The great folks at @acredogs rescued her off the streets in Cabo, Mexico where she was so malnourished, sick and trying to nurse her puppies. I saw her the first day we arrived at @acreresort and we immediately had such a heart connection. I visited her everyday and on the second to last day of my stay I asked if I could bring her back to California with me to foster her and get her back in good health. A few hectic calls to the airlines and she was ready to go. She’s the most gentle soul, a total lover and really goofy. I have a feeling this is going to be a foster fail. Some of you have also noticed a face that hasn’t been on here for awhile and that’s our precious Sunny boy. We made the most heartbreaking decision over the summer to find him a new home because the amount of traveling we were doing was too stressful for him. Like many heelers, sunny didn’t love strangers or other dogs so constantly being put into new environments every week was too much for him and for us. I haven’t been able to talk about it because it’s still so tender and an ache my heart hasn’t felt before but there’s solace knowing he is so happy running around the redwoods with a family that loves him. We definitely weren’t looking for another dog but I think animals have an amazing way of showing up and healing parts of you and it’s such an amazing gift to love them and receive their love 🤍
