Being the 3rd anniversary of my mother's passing and my neighbors savagely murdered still have some unresolved issues . I was able ( and grateful ) to attend a tour of " Women and the Art of Woodlawn " at the famed @thewoodlawncemetery in the Bronx, NYC . Thank you so much to @patricia_cronin for inviting me to attend . It was the most healing and inspiring thing that had done and seen to overcome this very personal loss and tragedy . " The Memorial of Marriage" ( 2002 when same sex marriage was illegal ) by @patricia_cronin is a the very first monument of marriage equality . The original in Carrara marble travels to museum exhibitions and bronze versions are in the collections of The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, Perez Art Museum in Miami and Kelvingrove Art Museum and galleries, Glasgow, Scotland . Every young gender queer artist with purple hair, nowadays making work without any historic reference and context and who is so free nowadays should know about these monument and the art that both @patricia_cronin and @debkass has been bringing to the plate for decades . It is not only inspiring but, educational and a great reference to future LBGTQ+ generations and the general public !
