You don’t have to be alone to feel lonely. Ever been times in a room full of people but still feel wildly alone? I think that if we don’t feel seen, heard, understood for who we truly are, we can feel extremely isolated even when surrounded by others. It can be really hard to find your people. The people that see you for you. The people that hear the pauses between your words as an expression in and of itself. The people that just get you. I think that when we take time to see, hear, and understand ourselves... we feel more connected with ourselves. And instead of seeking acceptance from others, we get a chance to accept ourselves. I take this version of child’s pose when I need a little support for my loneliness. To do it — 1. Come to sit on your heels with your big toes touching. 2. Widen your knees slightly. 3. Place a block or rolled blanket in front of your knees. 4. Lower your forehead to the block and take your hands under your shoulders. 5. Slide your right arm under your chest to the left and turn your palm to face up. Slide your left arm below the right arm towards the right and turn your palm up. 6. Stay like this or take your hands to your back like you’re giving yourself a hug. 7. Option to keep the block or lower your forehead down onto your mat. 8. Breathe steady and remember to switch the arm on top halfwsy through. 9. To come out, take arms out to a T to counter. Then take hands under shoulders and press yourself up. Hope this helps! #yogareel #breathe #asana #nycyogateacher #nycyoga #yoga #balasana #childspose
