Living alone in Ramallah as an American was so interesting because I was welcomed in by everyone, the hospitality was unmatched, and I felt so safe but I did not meet any other American tourists (except Palestinian-Americans). There were lots of Europeans, but not Americans which says a lot about the American understanding of Israel/Palestine. If you plan on traveling to Israel/Palestine, consider visiting more than just the Nativity Church in Bethlehem if you go to the West Bank— you won’t regret it. You should use the same anount of caution as you would traveling in other countries, but there’s no reason to fear that you shouldn’t go!
