This video was like most of the videos I get the pleasure of working with @littleluna on - an opportunity to find and create magic. β‘οΈβ¨
The 1st 3 shots, (some pivotal moments in the video) were all by chance. πͺ
The first:
We had driven 4 hours, from LA to just north of San Luis Obispo - thru desert heat and a literal house fire, to arrive at this stunning beach to capture our last scene.
As it plays in the video is pretty much the real time of the sun going down. We arrived at the beach as it was cresting... we got the few arrival shots we wanted... and just as the sun set I scrambled back 50 yards to get a final wide. The catch... the wind was blowing 40mph and it was probably 55Β° on that beach. Colllld for our Cali blood. Sweet warrior Rachel, never the one to complain, took it upon herself to do what any good ball of light would do in a situation such as this: dance.
I marveled at it just 1 moment before quickly hitting the record button to catch her final moves, including the iconic hair flip that @tortillaninja knew had to be in the video.
The 2nd: nothing more to say other than: put yourself in nature, and nature will show you beauty. This family of quail(?) crossed the road so sweetly and perfectly in front of us. It quickly became one of Ariβs favorite shots, and from what I hear, a fan favorite.
The 3rd: this is a combination of some sophomore level drone piloting by yours truly and a strong coastal wind. I was just trying to hold the ship steadi and keep the car in frame. What resulted was some really powerful compositions that hauntingly matched up so well to the music. (Again, thanks the the beautiful editing of @tortillaninja) π₯π€
The rest of the pics were perfectly planned, shotlisted, and precisely executed πππ π₯π«‘π
