November is Type 1 Diabetes awareness month. My daughter was diagnosed 18 months ago and there were a few things I didn’t know to start. Namely it’s an autoimmune disease, it’s not caused by eating too much sugar, it is not curable, good maintenance is 24/7 and while T1D is a part of you it doesn’t define you.
