#OnThisDay: On July 20, 1972 the New Orleans Marriott opened on Canal Street. At the time, it was the tallest building in New Orleans. Today, the hotel boasts 1,333 guest rooms and over 85,000 square feet of meeting space. Happy 50th anniversary! Additionally, six associates have been with the hotel since it opened: Carol Mitchell, Gloria Mejia, Hattie Russ, Linda Toney, Sarah Zeno and William Currie. Congratulations on 50 years of service!
