When we launched MERIT in January 2021, makeup sales were down 36% from 2019, particularly in the luxury and complexion categories (The NPD Group). After years of multi-step skincare routines, 50-shade eyeshadow palettes, and full coverage formulas, it was clear: we were ready for something new. MERIT was born out of this shift — to be the antidote to the oversaturated world of beauty. We are committed to creating well-edited essentials that help you do more with less — products that are designed to become the staples of your routine and live on your vanity for years to come.
