We bet you've seen this design before. It is the most enduring design of pioneering industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss. The T-86 Round thermostat and its development reveals Dreyfuss's concern with creating products that put the user first. Easy to read, easy to set, the Round became the most used thermostat in the country. Other related designs were developed since the 1930s. Earlier designs had a curved thermometer, and even earlier designs had a streamlined radio look, with a clock face built into the display—Swipe to see!
