Throughout the year, Grand Teton National Park Foundation supports programs that engage diverse youth in @grandtetonnps. Right now, participants in the Youth Conservation Program are completing trail improvements at some of the park’s most popular hiking destinations. National Park Service Academy participants began their internships in parks across the mountain west in late May—including Glacier, Mount Rainier, Rocky Mountains, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. Internships are focused on wildlife, trails, interpretation, fire, and more. Pura Vida summer camps for local LatinX middle schoolers will begin toward the end of June, and Rising Educators—a community employment and empowerment program for LatinX teens—began training earlier this month and this cohort of young educators are now leading summer camps with community organizations in Jackson Hole. Tribal Youth Corps begins in July with a crew from the Southwest, to be joined by Native youth from the Wind River Reservation for portions of the program as they complete trail work and special preservation projects. Mountains to Main Street for young urban professionals will begin toward the end of summer. . . Youth educational programs in Grand Teton are a result of many partners and supporters, including Wells Fargo, who—for the 14th consecutive year—has awarded grant support to the Foundation for special projects and to enable these life-changing opportunities for young people. This year, their $15,000 gift will support all five youth programs in Grand Teton. Such longstanding partnerships have helped to expand the impact of our youth initiatives over the years, ensuring participants of all backgrounds can experience this park and other outdoor spaces while gaining valuable education and career skills.
