Long post alert!! In summer 2014 I was entering my last year of law school and we lost our Section 8. My mother was devastated. We really didn’t know what we were about to do. While we were packing and trying to be out of the house by the deadline I left to the liquor store and bought two bottles of Belaire champagne and a bottle of Dussè. When I got back home everyone was so confused. I told my little brother and my mother to turn up and let’s celebrate being off of government assistance. I also told them we would see better days!! We said eff it, partied, and vacated the premises without a plan or money to do anything. Basically was homeless. Not knowing how we were about to survive, we kept it moving and walked by faith. Fast forward 8 years later. My mother purchased her first home today, CASH‼️ No monthly mortgage, no Section 8 telling her how to live, NOTHING‼️ You can’t tell me my God is not real! So tonight, we celebrate you Mama and all you’ve sacrificed for you and yours.
