One of my VERY FAVORITE parts about being an author is the opportunity to go to schools as a visiting author. I didn’t even know this was a thing until after my first book was published and I absolutely LOVE it. I have visited schools in person as well as on zoom and every single time it is such a fantastic experience both for me and (I think it’s fair to say) for the kids I get to visit. Kids have the best questions and the best energy. They are so open and excited to learn about writing, being an author, as well as about people who are different from them. They share with me the stories about people in their lives who are different too,and maybe even feel a little different themselves! My updated website has a new form to fill out if you and/or your school would be interested in hiring me as a visiting author. I can do in person visits or over zoom. (Last year I got to zoom all the way to Germany!)
