Red carpet moment at The Black British Theatre Awards - I’m at a beautiful milestone - Totally humbled to have been nominated for the ‘Lighting Recognition Award’ by @thebbtas so early on me pursuing lighting. I’m still claiming to just be a dancer ha. In the company of all that oozing spice and flavour of black talent was a dreamy and inspiring night. It’s been a journey with all the highs I have been sharing here on insta... it really has been a testing path behind closed doors these past 12/18 months. The passing and funerals of 3 family members and a childhood friend, a broken heart, lost “home”, family dramas and coming face to face with my childhood abuser. This all resulting me being abit of mess mentally and emotionally - seeking aid and therapy really did help and having lighting as another form of escapism, which I could share and explore with others has been a god send. Genuine love and appreciation to all those that have trusted, supported and collaborated with me. Special shout to the women, black and brown peeps and ma queers who are undoubtedly fanning my flame. I’m hyped for what’s next ...
