“We know from experience that the uplifting of women’s economic, political and social rights is the key to sustainable, locally led development solutions.” - Michelle Nunn, CARE President & CEO
Our founding partner @careorg has committed to funding a $50 million Center for Gender Equity in Central America focused on women’s economic empowerment and reducing rates of sex and gender-based violence (SGBV).
In addition to CARE’s existing work in the region, this effort comes as part of @vp Kamala Harris’ “Call to Action” for businesses and social enterprises to make new, significant commitments towards improving quality of life for residents of northern Central America.
We are deeply grateful to CARE’s dedication toward a more equitable future for women everywhere.
