Yesterday the BC RCMP shared new details on the Sea to Sky Gondola investigation. Back in August 2019 and again in September 2020 the cables of the Sea to Sky Gondola were deliberately cut. The company suffered a $10 million loss due to the incidents and had to layoff 200 staff as repairs were made. The new image is a thermal photo of the suspect and a video was also released that showed a security guard nearly getting crushed as the gondola came crashing down. The RCMP is doubling the reward money from $250,000 to $500,000 for information leading to the conviction of the individual(s) responsible. "Our investigators believe the suspect is extremely fit, knew the area well, and had specific knowledge about what tools to use in order to cut the cable in such a way that it would cause catastrophic damage to the gondola while protecting the suspect from harm," says Officer, Sergeant Chris Manseau. "We know there are people out there, who have information that could assist police with this investigation, Someone nearly lost their life and police are urging anyone with information to please come forward." .... #seatosky #bcnews #squamish #breakingnews #britishcolumbia #rcmp #vancouver #vancity #canadanews #news #bc #bcmagazine #bcmag #bcmountains #investigation #northvan #whistler #hellobc #westcoast #pnw #seatoskygondola #seatoskyhighway #journalism #squamishisawesome #localbc
