A documentary film’s life is multi-faceted, it is a creative work that has the power to inform and engage an audience and bring in new perspectives on the topic it presents. We had a free event at the long standing San Francisco addiction treatment center Ohlhoff Recovery Programs @ohlhoffrecovery (one of our partnering organizations) this weekend sharing clips of The Creative High and guiding experiences in arts therapy and meditation supported by a recent grant we received from the Buddhist organization, Khyentse Foundation. @khyentsefoundation An incredible joy and honor to see the film’s message in action as we discussed intuition, making art in recovery, the true self, sat in meditation together, witnessed art that was made by the clients illustrating the ‘mask’ of addiction and the unmasking that happens in recovery, opening up to our essential creative nature. Thank you to Arlene Stanich-prince, Director of Ohlhoff for all you do and for making this happen, and for artist subject Jason Bernhardt, stone sculptor/musician, who joined us sharing about ‘art’ in all his affairs. This event was a part of ‘The Creative High Program’ that is emerging as a community offering formed by film collaborators Director/expressive arts therapist/educator Adriana Marchione and Producer/filmmaker/Meditation in Recovery teacher Dianne Griffin. We so look forward to sharing with diverse groups, behavioral health centers, creative orgs, etc. as we continue to roll out the film. PM us or reach us at [email protected] to inquire about us coming to your organization. #thecreativehigh #artinrecovery #creativenature #recoveryispossible #trueself #khyentsefoundation #buddhistpractice #expressivearts #addictionrecovery
