We are very sad to hear of the passing of Dame Vivienne Westwood. Vivienne was a class act ,the Bowie of the fashion world ,and an absolute true inspiration to us at House of Hackney. We love all that she stood for. She championed out of the box unbridled creativity and craftsmanship that transcended all trends. She was a pioneer in showing that business can be a force for good in a world of mass consumerism; she was at the forefront of the message to buy less but buy better. As soon as we could afford it she was the designer we chose to wear; wearing her beautiful pieces imbued with such spirit meant supporting all that she represented - pioneering creativity, craftsmanship and compassion towards people and planet. Vivienne Westwood is loved across the generations and we know that her irreverent punk spirit will continue to inspire young creatives for generations to come.
