Sunday, May 1, from 11 AM to 4 PM at @art_omi, @forgeprojectny is partnering with Demian DinéYazhi' (Diné) @heterogenoushomosexual and Korina Emmerich (Puyallup) @korinaemmerich of @riseindigenous to host a drop-in protest poster- and banner-making workshop for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons. We will be making posters and banners to bring to the Friday, May 6, MMIP Awareness March in Hudson, as well as to post around the region to bring attention to this epidemic. Materials will be provided but you are also invited to bring your own materials—tee shirts, tote bags, etc. — to embellish for the Friday march. @heterogeneoushomosexual will present on the history and national crisis that is #MMIW and #MMIP and best practices for being an advocate. No RSVP required. We will also have some food and drinks. While this event will be taking place outdoors, Forge Project asks that participants be fully vaccinated and wear masks.
