11 years ago, on 11.11, I met the love of my life at the Museum of Modern Art. I’d planned to swing by quickly for a René Magritte curatorial walkthrough but had to get home afterward to transcribe an interview for Into the Gloss. That plan changed the moment I met Alex. We ended up staying later, grabbing a drink with the MoMA group after the show, and setting our first official date for the following week. It was the best date of my life, and from that night, we’ve been together ever since. I was 22 and freshly out of school, fully committed to my career and my lifelong friendships. Our relationship felt cosmic, yet it’s been a beautiful slow simmer over the years. We took our time—it was nearly a year before we said “I love you,” and we didn’t move in together until my late 20s. From day one, you’ve always held space for me to be exactly who I am, letting me grow, take risks, and shine. I wouldn’t be who I am today without you by my side. Bubs, you’re the most loving, kind, caring, present, handsome, and remarkable person I know. I’m endlessly grateful to call you mine, and to keep building and growing together. Thank you for being my rock, my adventure buddy, my best friend in this whole universe. I love you, and I like you.
