Today is our National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. We recognize and honor the lost children and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families, communities and others impacted. We will be taking time to learn and reflect on our country’s history and 94 calls to action. Visit @indigenous.tourism.alberta and @indigenoustourismbc for additional resources to help better understand, learn from, and connect with Indigenous cultures and experiences. We humbly acknowledge that our work and play takes places on the vast unceded and surrendered shared territory of the Lil'wat Nation and Squamish Nation, and on the present-day territories of Treaty 6, 7 and 8, as well as the Métis homeland, and the traditional meeting grounds, traveling route and home to many Indigenous peoples including the Cree, Saulteaux (So-toe), Nakota Sioux (Sue) and Secwépemc (Suh-wep-muhc), Stoney Nakoda Nations of Wesley, Chiniki and Bearspaw; three Nations of Blackfoot Confederacy: the Piikani, Kainai, and Siksika; and the Tsuu T’ina of the Dene (De-nay) people.
